Amidst the precarious balance between the two rival nations, Luke, the only son of the Duke of Kimlasca, is kidnapped by someone from Malkuth. Although he is later rescued, Luke has lost all his memories. Seven years later, Luke, who has been raised under house arrest in his mansion, has sword practice with his master, Van, as his only hobby. One day, Luke causes a pseudo-hyperresonance with Tear, a girl who illegally entered the mansion to kill Van, and teleports with her to an unknown place. To return to the mansion, Luke begins to act with Tear, and in the long journey ahead, he meets many people and continues to fight to know the meaning of his birth.
