The waist is elastic. It's very stylish with a beige & orange bi-color design. I liked it and bought it used a few times on another flea market site, but it tends to cling to the body's lines and made my tummy look more prominent, so it didn't suit me and I'm selling it. I only tried it on. There is no lining, so I think it's best to wear a petticoat. There is some fuzzing and pilling if you look closely.
