"Road to Louisiana" Harry & Mac (Haruomi Hosono, Makoto Kubota) The only work released in 1999 by the unit formed by Haruomi Hosono and Makoto Kubota (Les Rallizes Dénudés, YMO, Sandy & The Sunsetz). Originally released on vinyl, this is a CD reissue. Recorded in Tokyo, LA, and New Orleans, the album is based on the New Orleans/swamp sound of America, featuring participation from both Japanese and American musicians such as Garth Hudson of The Band, Jim Keltner, Tatsuo Hayashi, and Shigeru Suzuki. I think it connects to later works like Haruomi Hosono's "Flying Saucer 1947." Includes self-covers of "Choo Choo Gatta Gotto '99" and "Pom Pom Joki," as well as a cover of Sachiko Kanenobu's "Toki ni Makasete," for a total of 13 songs.
