"Kontrasax Plays Gertrude Stein" Kontrasax "Kontrasax" is a group of two female musicians, saxophonist and bass clarinetist Christina Fuchs and Romy Herzberg on double bass. They perform musically expressive interpretations of the sophisticated and distinctive prose of Gertrude Stein, a female author and poet born in Pennsylvania in 1874 and who died in Paris in 1946. The performance features 17 chamber pieces, playful, partially freely improvised, variations on text fragments by the lyrical poet. A fusion of German readings and musical performance.
