These items have the gentle warmth unique to handmade goods. They are well-preserved vintage pieces from the Iden Pottery, a pottery studio in England. Inside the circle are the letters "IDEN" and "SUSSEX," along with a symbol mark that appears to be a kiln. The cups also have the HAND MADE stamp. While there is some crazing visible in the cup in photo 4, the other cup and the two saucers are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The stamps are clear and legible. Please check the condition in the photos. The founder, Dennis Townsend, became independent after training at the prestigious local kiln, Rye Pottery, and established Iden Pottery in 1959. They mainly produced stoneware, and created coffee and tea ware, mugs, lamp bases, and giftware. Many of their designs were handmade and warm, and they were widely popular, being sold in famous London department stores such as Harrods and Heals in the late 1960s.
