Thank you for viewing! Here is a two-car set of Märklin vintage passenger cars (4040) 2nd class HO gauge. The cars are made of steel and are over 50 years old, making them vintage items. However, I personally think they are in very good condition. The springs on the couplers on the underside of the cars are in good condition and have tension. Also, there are no bends or breaks in the steps, which is a common issue. As these are classic passenger cars, they have a very retro atmosphere just by displaying them pulled by a locomotive. A shop in Tokyo Station, themed around travel, uses the same passenger cars for their in-store display (which was not for sale). The undersides of the cars have been cleaned with a special solvent with strong degreasing properties, which is also used by Märklin. There is no original box. Please check the photos carefully to assess the overall condition and make your decision. This is a vintage item from over half a century ago, stored by an individual.
