This is an old Wajima-nuri lacquerware bowl. It features a charming design with a vermilion rim and a black, gold-inlaid (chinkin) design. The bowl has a beveled edge with a painted division, and the chinkin work depicts a shepherd's purse (nazuna) design in black and a dragon (ryu) design in gold. The design is quite elaborate.
