I purchased this from Peter Ivy's online store about four years ago. I haven't put anything with a strong smell, like coffee beans, in it. The wire part has aged over time. The following is quoted from the HP: Details Material: Specially blended colored glass. Size: φ100 mm x 140 mm Notes: Hand wash with water and kitchen soap. Each piece is handmade, so please use the photos and size as a guide. About the wire: The wire is covered with copper on the outside, so it will change to a calm black rust due to aging. This is what the artist intended, and the work is completed when it settles into black rust. Polishing with a wire sponge will peel off the copper surface, exposing the iron inside and causing the wire to deteriorate, so please enjoy the texture as it is without polishing.
