Size: Approximately 72 x 42 cm This is a reprint, using modern printing technology to reproduce the original artwork of "Tango no Zukoro-ku," published in 1877 (Meiji 10), and printed on handmade Japanese paper. This "Tango no Zukoro-ku" is a sugoroku (a Japanese board game similar to backgammon) featuring illustrations of words from the textbook "Shogaku Nyumon" published by the Ministry of Education in 1874 (Meiji 7). At the time, large hanging charts like this were displayed on blackboards, and lessons were conducted while pointing with a whip. Therefore, it is said to be the origin of word sugoroku. Because the original artwork from the time was restored and used for printing, the repaired areas are printed as they are. This reprinted sugoroku has no glare typical of offset printing, and the good atmosphere of handmade Japanese paper is evident. Notes: ・The condition is based on subjective assessment.
