This is a souvenir from China. It's apparently a character from a popular movie in mainland China. I opened it to check the contents. The box has some damage (see image 5). The figure is about 10cm tall. When you press the button on the front, the face rotates sideways and the expression changes. (There are 3 expressions) I think it's modeled after the Chinese Bian Lian (face-changing) performance.
