The rubber parts are beginning to show signs of hydrolysis. Unfortunately, I don't have any old SLR batteries on hand, so I haven't been able to confirm its operation. It's being sold as junk, no claims accepted. That said, it's a simple mechanism, and it hasn't been used much, just left in a box, so I think it should be okay.
