This is an Iwatani cast iron takoyaki plate. It has been used many times, so it may look dirty, but like a Chinese wok, it's made of cast iron. By repeatedly oiling and cooking on it, the surface of the plate becomes coated, making it less likely for food to stick. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about its appearance.
