Kiriya (Suizan Kobo) is a kimono manufacturing company in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, founded in the Kanei era of the Edo period, and is a workshop that creates "Tsujigahana" (a type of tie-dyeing). When the fifth generation Kuhei opened the workshop in the Meiji era, he named his art name "Suizan" (Green Mountain) after the beautiful scenery of the mountains of Tokamachi, which were deeply green and had clear water, and named the creative space "Suizan Kobo" (Green Mountain Workshop).
