This is a men's hakama made of Seigo Sendai-hira, created by Living National Treasure Yoshiro Koda, a holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property "Seigo Sendai-hira." Mr. Yoshiro Koda studied under his father, Eisuke Koda, from an early age, learning the traditional Sendai-hira weaving technique, Seigo Sendai-hira. In 1976, he was certified as a holder of the Miyagi Prefecture Intangible Cultural Property "Seigo Sendai-hira" technique, and on July 8, 2002, he and his father, Eisuke Koda, were both certified as holders of the Important Intangible Cultural Property "Seigo Sendai-hira" technique, spanning two generations. Sendai-hira has been a synonym for hakama since the Edo period, a well-known textile. The hakama is the key to a dignified man's kimono appearance. Seigo Sendai-hira, which looks sharp when standing and has a plump shape when sitting, is a masterpiece chosen as a competition hakama by men who colored the times, including prime ministers and famous yokozuna (grand sumo wrestlers). Sendai-hira is a high-class men's hakama that can be worn formally. We hope you will enjoy it with your existing montsuki haori's habutae or Omeshi (formal silk).(^^) ●Color: Navy, brown, and gray striped pattern ●Size: Andon style String length: Approximately 82cm Please note that there may be slight errors due to amateur measurements. ●Material: Pure silk ●Condition: The hakama is unused with basting threads attached. The hakama stop spatula has been used and has scratches (photo 13). Although it is a beautiful item, please understand that it is a used item before purchasing. ●Other notes: There are differences in the colors seen depending on your monitor, so please be careful if you are pursuing subtle colors. 【 #Yoshiro Koda 】 1976: Certified as a holder of Miyagi Prefecture Intangible Cultural Property 1985: Designated as a Miyagi Prefecture Traditional Craft Product 1989: Miyagi Prefecture Educational Merit Award 1993: Received the 29th "Japan Kiwanis Culture Award" 2001: Sendai City's 112th Anniversary of Municipal Enforcement, City Merit Award, Received the 21st "Traditional Culture Pola Award" 2002: Received the Heisei 13th Year Traditional Craft Industry Merit Award, Certified as a holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property 2004: Received the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays October 11, 2025: Passed away at the age of 96 We also have many other items for sale, including kimonos, obi, Japanese accessories, antiques, and brand artists.
