Roy Ayers is a vibraphone player known by everyone in this world, but I, for one, only knew a little about him. However, I encountered this album at a record store, and the dynamic jacket made me buy it immediately. It was a complete "jacket buy." Forty years later, when I checked the items for sale on Mercari, there were plenty of them, both analog and CD. But this work, among them, is probably a rare gem. The content, recorded in 1985, incorporates new sounds in a good way, while still showcasing his characteristic performance and vocals. He doesn't yield the spotlight even in the numbers featuring Lady Soul and Jean Carn, which is great. I didn't know he had passed away last year at the age of 85. Amen.
