(Negotiable) This is a powerful wooden bear carving by Jiro Hikima, also known as Kippo, one of eight sculptors including Shigeyuki Shibazaki, who created unique works known as Yakumo Eight. Created in 1975, this is a very valuable piece from before he established his own workshop, "Kippo no Ie," in Yakumo, Hokkaido. It is a dynamic, approximately 35cm long roaring bear featuring the traditional Yakumo chrysanthemum-shaped hair carving and glass eyes. Please check the condition of the artwork in the photos as it is old. A pamphlet from the Yakumo Town Wooden Bear Museum will be included.
