This is an authentic Japanese mask purchased at a shop in Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto during a school trip. I'm not sure of the exact type of material, but it's made of wood. It was displayed, so there is some sun damage, and there are areas where the paint has peeled off due to accidentally wiping it too hard with water (see images). The original price was 16,000 yen.
