I was cleaning out my parents' house and found this. I couldn't photograph it well, but the vertical lines are reflections. It has an emerald green base with fine gold scattered throughout, and some areas have larger patterns. I've never seen it being used, and it was neatly stored in its box, so I assume it's unused. However, I'm listing it as "near new." The original box has the inscription "Go-sho." [Takaoka Copperware] The birthplace of Takaoka Copperware is Kanayamachi, along the Senbori River. It is said to have begun in 1609 when Maeda Toshinaga, the second lord of the Kaga domain, who built a castle in Takaoka, invited seven casters (imoji) from nearby villages. Starting with the award won by So-shichi Kanamori at the Vienna World's Fair in 1873, many master craftsmen received awards both domestically and internationally, and their elaborate style established a firm position in the world.
