I ran a 1-hour DVD continuously to check its operation (no other checks were performed). Since it's battery-powered and not battery-operated, there's no risk of the battery exploding if left in a car. When playing DVDs, there's an unexplained rattling sound (vibration?) that sometimes occurs, but it's not noticeable when playing at a moderate volume. CDs can be played, but Blu-rays cannot.
