This is a cotton-padded "hanten" (a traditional Japanese winter coat) made with care by my grandmother in the Showa 40s (1965-1974). The hemp leaf pattern is said to ward off evil spirits. It was sewn stitch by stitch, wishing for the happiness of her daughter who was getting married. I don't remember my mother wearing it. It seems it was carefully stored. It's in very good condition. Please, feel free to use it.
