This is a盛り込み器 (morikomiki - decorative serving platter) for sashimi platters, live-dressed sashimi, and the like. It features a frame assembled in an "igeta" (well frame) shape, combined with a slatted bottom plate that allows for water drainage. This is the type of item used in high-class restaurants. It is quite sturdy and has a good weight to it. Please check the images for size reference. This was a gift from a shop, and it's either new or has been used very little... There is a crack in the wood on the slatted board. Use: For serving sashimi, otsukuri (sashimi arranged artistically), sushi, etc.
