This is a suzuribako (writing box) decorated with a raden (mother-of-pearl inlay) design of a red-crowned crane. The set includes the suzuribako, a suzuri (inkstone), a suiteki (water dropper), and sumi (ink stick) made by Kobaien (with safflower ink). This was a commemorative gift for long service at a company, and the company name, employee name, and the words "5th Anniversary of Service" are inscribed (see image 2). *Please purchase only if you do not mind the inscriptions.
