Irritator is estimated to have been 6-8 meters long and weighed about 1 ton, making it one of the smallest spinosaurids. The shallow, elongated snout had straight, conical teeth without serrations. A sagittal crest ran along the top of the head, likely anchoring powerful neck muscles.
