Kiyosue's Biography: Kiyosue (Shinichi Fujiwara) Born in Yahaba-cho, Iwate Prefecture in 1955. Joined Iwachu Co., Ltd. in 1995. Worked under the second and third generation Kiyosue. Certified as a Traditional Craftsman in 2011 (becoming the fourth-generation Kiyosue). This iron kettle is certified as a national traditional craft. This iron kettle is still manufactured by hand, one by one, using the traditional yakigata method (lost-wax casting). Excellent techniques are applied to every detail, including the handle, the cast iron surface, and the pattern. In 2012, the fourth-generation "Kiyosue" Shinichi Fujiwara was newly certified as a Traditional Craftsman. Currently, three craftsmen are involved in making the molds for Nanbu iron kettles, working to resolve the backlog in delivery. Therefore, the production is carried out by three Traditional Craftsmen: the third-generation "Kiyosue," the fourth-generation "Kiyosue," and the third-generation "Kiyoshige" (from the Iwachu HP).
