It was stored rolled up in a paper tube by a modern record keeper, so the beginning part, which is the start of the history of writing instruments, has some damage. There were also some stains in the middle. (I found two spots just now.) I don't think there were any major tears. The back side is blank, so I haven't checked the condition.
