This is a dog hariko (papier-mâché figure) by Yaho Igarashi of Yahata Kobo in Nasu, Tochigi Prefecture. While there is some age-related deterioration due to the nature of the material, the condition is good, and above all, it has the unique charm of Mr. Yutaka Igarashi's work. Approximately 10cm x 6cm x height 11.5cm. This item was purchased nearly 50 years ago and has been displayed on a doll shelf, so the condition is good, but there are some blackening and stains on the surface coloring characteristic of aged hariko.
