Willie's tenor trombone mouthpiece for large shank, HY4J3 (silver-plated finish). This mouthpiece is a size that is generally not kept in stock. It was ordered from Willie's through Tokyo DAC, the seller. It has only been test-played a few times and is in excellent condition, practically new. There are no scratches on the rim or cup, and only slight marks on the shank. I ordered it for playing 3rd trombone in a wind band, orchestra, or brass ensemble, but it didn't fit me, so I'm selling it. The size is: cup inner diameter 26.0mm, throat (diameter of the narrowest part of the cup bottom) 6.8mm. It has the same cup diameter as a Bach 4G, but the depth is slightly shallower than Bach. The biggest feature of this Valkyrie series is that the throat is designed to be slightly smaller. For a Bach 4G, which is compatible with American-style instruments, the throat diameter is 7mm, but the Valkyrie is 6.8mm. A slightly smaller throat is a characteristic. Personally, if I were to evaluate this mouthpiece, I think it's the best choice for those who want to play 2nd or 3rd parts and don't have much breath control, as the cup is not as deep as a Bach, making it easier to play without having to play loudly. Valkyrie mouthpieces in the 4 series are very rare as there are no new ones in stock. The new retail price is 36,000 yen including tax. It's in almost new condition, so I think it's a great deal.
