Offering from my collection. This is a fire-prevention god mask (female mask), a folk craft from the Aizu region. Compared to the male mask, it has a terrifying face like a Hannya mask. It was created using the Aizu hariko (papier-mâché) method, and it has a lot of impact. This fire-prevention god item is a rare item that is not often seen, as it is a folk craft that has already been discontinued. It was somewhat common in the past, but it will be harder to obtain in the future. The fire-prevention god is a folk craft version of the Kamado-gami (kitchen god) of the Aizu region. The Kamado-gami is a folk belief found throughout Japan, where a mask with a terrifying face is affixed above the kitchen stove and enshrined as a god of fire prevention. This belief was the origin of these hariko masks. The author's mark "Kyuya" is inscribed on the back. After researching, it seems to be the work of a famous fire-prevention god craftsman.
