When you press the button, a sound plays and the gears turn. My child was having a lot of fun playing with it. There are some scratches, etc., but I don't think it will affect play. Operation has been confirmed. Batteries are included, but please let me know if you don't need them. I will remove the batteries. Please do not purchase if you are sensitive to used items.
