I opened this item, which is new and unopened, for the purpose of listing it. There was paper on the lid, but it was discolored, so I discarded it. There was a noshi (decorative paper) attached to the side, so I removed it. There are tape marks and a slight peeling of the board. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. I plan to wrap it in bubble wrap and ship it in a cardboard box.
