In Asuka Village, Nara Prefecture, vividly colored murals were discovered in the Takamatsuzuka Tomb. Star charts, depictions of the Four Gods, and figures of men and women were painted in vibrant colors on the plaster walls inside the tomb (designated as a national treasure). Among them, the group of women on the north side of the west wall retain colors that are hard to believe have been hidden underground for over a thousand years, making them of high art historical value.
