The intricate patterns are created by tying cotton thread to match the design of the underdrawing, then repeatedly dyeing the fabric in a natural indigo dye vat over 20 times. After washing and drying, the tied threads are untied to complete the process. ⚠️‼️ Due to international circumstances, the weak yen, and the impact of the coronavirus, the production volume in the local area is decreasing year by year due to labor costs, a shortage of technicians, and a decrease in the production of natural indigo. High-quality handmade items with fine patterns are becoming very rare and expensive. ● The dye color is darker and the fabric feels thicker than items found in kimono and Japanese goods stores. There will be no new arrivals. I am selling this for less than 1/3 of the original selling price. Fabric size: Approximately 200cm x 140cm (No.102345) The display table is 120cm x 75cm wide and 35cm high. 100% cotton hand-dyed indigo With sashiko stitching Color Fastening, Usage, and Washing Tips: ● Color Fastening Dissolve a generous amount of salt (about 1 tablespoon) in an appropriate amount of cold water (500cc to 1L, enough to fully submerge the fabric) in a plastic bag. Soak the fabric in the solution, remove the air, and leave it overnight. Gently wash with water, remove the salt, and dry in the shade. This will help the natural indigo dye to set and reduce, removing the brownish-green discoloration and restoring the original vividness of the indigo. If the color becomes dull during use, you can use this method again to restore its vibrancy. By repeating this process, you can enjoy the gentle blue color unique to indigo for a long time! ● Usage Be careful as the color may transfer if used with light-colored fabric products or leather products due to friction. Be careful when using it as a bed cover or sofa cover. It is recommended to use it after repeating color fastening and washing several times. ● Washing Since the indigo dye will bleed during washing, causing color transfer, it cannot be washed with other items for at least 2-3 times. At my home, I use it as a tablecloth and bed cover. The fabric is thick and sturdy, and it is a beloved item that I can enjoy the changing colors of for a long time. ※ Although it is wrapped in wrapping paper and stored in a cool, dark place, due to the cotton material and natural indigo dye, the areas exposed to air may slightly discolor due to the oxidation of the dye. This can be alleviated by repeating color fastening and washing several times.
