Made in Denmark. A Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Plain teapot. ROYAL COPENHAGEN Blue Fluted Plain Tea Pot This teapot is from my parents' home, and it survived the Great Hanshin Earthquake 30 years ago. Most of the set was broken, but this teapot and one cup and saucer miraculously survived with minor damage, and I have kept them ever since. This is a piece with a story. The teapot itself is in beautiful condition, but there is a large chip on the inside of the lid. When the lid is closed, it is completely hidden from view, so it is in good condition for display as an interior decoration. The chipped part has broken off cleanly, so there is no worry of further cracking. There are no cracks or leaks, so if you were to apply simple kintsugi to the chipped part of the lid, you could still use it as a teapot. Also, upon listing this item, I noticed that the backstamps on the body and lid have different manufacturing years. It should be as it was when purchased, but the details of how they were set are unknown. There is no doubt that they are genuine products manufactured in Denmark between 1985 and 1999. Size: Width approx. 22cm x Height approx. 14cm Capacity: 700ml *The small dimple in the last image is a result of the manufacturing process. Please purchase this item with the understanding that it is a piece with a story, as described above.
