Thank you for viewing. This is a jazz bass that appears to be made by ESP. I purchased it used, but I am selling it because I haven't used it much. There is no logo on the headstock, but there is a pencil inscription "esp Shibuya 1987.2" on the neck joint, so it is believed to have been assembled with parts sold at BIGBOSS. The tuners are GOTOH GB640, and the pickups are stack-type, low-noise pickups. After purchasing it, I had a pickguard installed and the controls replaced with a stack-type 2V2T configuration. The sound is crisp and has a very nice, aged tone. Currently, the neck has 45-105 gauge strings and has a slight forward bow, but the truss rod is said to be quite tight in the tightening direction. As it is approximately 40 years old, the wood has aged, and there is a slight step in the skunk stripe. There are traces of filled holes in the bridge area, possibly because the previous owner had a different bridge installed. There are traces of a tension pin having been added between the 4th and 3rd strings on the headstock. The open 4th string has a slightly chorus-like sound, so the nut may need adjustment. The position markers on the neck side are stickers, so you can remove them if you don't need them. It will be shipped in an SKB hard case and wrapped in bubble wrap.
