Quoted from the following site: When considering the theme of "vessels," the first thing that came to mind was the Arita-yaki Shin-gama pottery. My mother is a big fan of Shin-gama's "Foreigner Series," and I've been familiar with the vessels since I was a child. I mustered up the courage to ask Shin-gama for a collaboration, and they kindly agreed, which led to the creation of this product. The biggest challenge in creating a shirt that scattered the somewhat humorous and endearing expressions of the foreigners, like the "Seika" vessels, was creating the printing plate. It started with scanning the images and importing them into a computer, but because the vessels are all curved and couldn't be scanned cleanly, they made a ceramic tile-like object called a "touban" specifically for this project. At Shin-gama, they make their own glazes and materials called "gosu" to express the unique colors and bleeding of old ceramics. However, this was not suitable for scanning for fabric printing, so they adjusted the density of the gosu and the type of glaze and baked it specifically. Thanks to this, we were able to finish the shirt with a print that retains the hand-drawn feel of the vessels.
