Marine Corps items are rare in the market, and even more so when it comes to chinos. They become even rarer when dating back to the 1940s. USMC chinos from around the 1940s are characterized by a fly front (covered placket), a coin pocket with welted edges, and double stitching on both the inside and outside seams. The pocket lining uses off-white slake fabric, the same as ARMY chinos, instead of the same fabric as the trousers. Many Marine Corps chinos from this era did not have hip pockets, making those with hip pockets very rare. Many people are looking for those with pockets because of the inconvenience of not having them.
