My grandfather received it as a celebratory gift and it has been stored in its box unused for a long time. It is a striking piece with a deep vermillion color and a radial carved pattern reminiscent of chrysanthemums. Due to its footed design, it has height and can be used not only as a Japanese confectionery dish, but also for fruit, hospitality, or as a decorative item for a tokonoma alcove.
