This is a Kanemasa Hamokiri knife. The blade length is approximately 21cm. The steel is unknown, but it's probably Shirogami (white steel). The handle is made of black water buffalo horn. It's a single-edged knife. I've labeled it a Hamokiri knife, but the shape is somewhat unique, so it might be a custom-made item. The shape is a cross between a bone-cutting knife, a Kiritsuke, and a Yanagiba, functioning as a sashimi knife capable of cutting bones. The end of the handle is rounded like a saki knife. I think it's a rare item. I restored it because there was a lot of rust overall. I sharpened and polished the flat and cutting edge, so it's in a beautiful condition, but there are still some minor scratches and rust marks (pitting). I recommend it if you don't mind. I've lightly honed the edge to prevent chipping, and it has a razor-like sharpness. The flat and cutting edge are almost mirror-finished. I recommend it for both professionals and general users due to its size. It's finished with Kitayama 8000 grit and Shapton 12000 grit whetstones.
