◇ About the Makers ◇ We sell handmade shinobue flutes crafted by a father and daughter team in Shimane Prefecture, with the father having about 25 years of experience as a shinobue instructor and flute maker. We harvest female bamboo (shinodake) growing in the Shizumagawa River (formerly the Ginzangawa River), and we make shinobue and kagura flutes from bamboo that has been dried for over 3 years. ◇ Shipping Method ◇ We ship via Mercari's anonymous shipping service, using eco-friendly packaging, within 1-3 days. Please leave a comment if you need it urgently. ◇ First ◇ Shinobue flutes tuned to the Do-Re-Mi scale have 7 holes. The first hole (the hole furthest from the mouthpiece) is only opened for pitch adjustment and is not intended to be used during performance. (This is common for Do-Re-Mi scale flutes) Occasionally, there are regions where the first hole is used on Do-Re-Mi scale flutes, but on shinobue flutes with 1-8 honchoshi and longer lengths, the first hole is out of reach for the fingers. *Reference images are provided. 【Specifications】Included: Instruction manual (fingering chart) ◯ Length: Approximately 43-45cm, Thickness: Approximately 19-21mm (near the mouthpiece) ◯ Material: Shinodake (female bamboo) (dried for over 3 years and then heat-treated) ◯ Holes: Interior coated with synthetic azuki-colored lacquer (cashew) ◯ Exterior: Coated with synthetic transparent lacquer (cashew) ◯ Binding thread: Ivory color ・16g of weight is inserted inside the head of the tube for stability adjustment. The reflector on the mouthpiece uses wood putty to prevent melting in the summer heat. ・The flute is tuned so that the Ro-on (1st octave), Ko-on (2nd octave), and Daiko-on (3rd octave) can be produced with varying breath strength. *Because natural shinodake is used, the tone and playing feel vary from flute to flute. Those already accustomed to other flute makers' flutes may need some time to get used to producing the Daiko-on range.
