At the time of its founding, Arpin's fabrics were supplied as cold weather gear for expeditions traveling in the Alps. The jacket was famously used by Vittorio Emanuele II, the first King of Italy, during his ascent of the Alps, and was also adopted for the French national team uniforms at the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics. In 2007, it was designated as a "company inheriting existing cultural heritage" by the French Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and is finished using shrinking machines registered as French national heritage, in the same way as in the past. 【LUCKY BUTTON】 In the early days of Arpin's founding, mountaineering and crossing borders were often life-threatening activities due to the harsh environment. There was no guarantee of returning to the same place, so the joy of safely completing the journey was great, and the buttons of their jackets, which they wore when they returned safely, were kept as a symbol of good luck. When they got a new jacket, they replaced the bottom button of the new jacket to inherit that good luck. Therefore, the bottom button of their mountaineering clothes was always different from the others. A metal button different from the others is always attached to the final button of Arpin's jackets.
