Handmade earrings featuring two colors of freshwater pearls (dyed) with a mirrorball-like cut on the surface. They use a subdued dark green, 7mm in size, and beige, 5mm in size. Because of the surface cuts, they reflect light differently than pearls without cuts. I used to see cut freshwater pearls quite often, but I don't see them as much lately. These were made from stock I've had for over 10 years. They are adorned with diamond pins (glass) and Swarovski AB crystals, adding a touch of elegant sparkle. The earring posts are from Kiwa Seisakujo. They can also be changed to spring-type earrings (no additional charge). Unlike Akoya pearls, which are cultured with a nucleus, freshwater pearls are naturally without a nucleus. In the case of Akoya pearls, pearls without a nucleus (natural pearls that happen to form without one) are called "keshi" and are treated specially and traded at high prices, but freshwater pearls are all without a nucleus, so they are not as expensive as Akoya pearls. In the case of freshwater pearls, perfectly round ones are rare, and those with good luster are of high value. Therefore, if you are purchasing freshwater pearls, I recommend that you research them well.
