He began working in advertising design around 1971, and after working as a designer and art director, he debuted as an illustrator in 1980. He has been in charge of magazine cover illustrations for magazines such as "FM STATION," "Yasei Jidai," and "POPEYE," as well as advertising campaigns and product packaging for major companies. He is also famous for designing the CD jackets for Tatsuro Yamashita.
