This is a commemorative item made of Yakusugi (Yakushima cedar) wood carvings of a crane, pine, and turtle, framed in a picture frame. It is a commemorative item from the completion of the All Forestry Hall (Plaza Forest) in 1977 (Showa 52). It has been stored in the storage room of my parents' house, still in its paper box. The three wood carvings are fixed to a baseboard, and that baseboard is housed in the picture frame. A tag is affixed to the lower right of the baseboard, reading "Certified Yakusugi" (photo 6) from the Kagoshima Prefecture Yakusugi Business Cooperative. On the top of the paper box lid, a label reads "World's Famous Wood Yakusugi" (photos 13 and 14). The baseboard is further secured from the back of the frame with plywood. This baseboard can be removed from the frame. If the size is right, you can display other pictures in the frame. Frame size: (Width) 41cm x (Height) 44cm Depth 4cm Size of the baseboard with the wood carvings fixed: (Width) 24.3cm x (Height) 27.2cm Please allow for some minor errors. A short purple string is attached to the back of the frame, but it has never been hung on a wall and has been stored in the storage room of my parents' house. Due to aging, or perhaps during the organization of the storage room, there are small scratches, scuffs, or patterns that look like the original wood grain on the frame. (See photos 9-12) Also, there are faint stains on the baseboard of the three wood carvings. (See photos 2-6) Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. The paper box is quite damaged, but it will be slightly repaired and reused.
