This is an old komon (patterned kimono). It has a bright bluish-purple background with a large sayagata (key fret) pattern and big plum blossoms. It seems to have had a string closure in the front, so it may have been for a child. It's a youthful and vibrant piece. There are noticeable stains on the left chest area and the front of the left sleeve. There is a red stain on the upper back of the left sleeve. The stains on the front panel and hem are extensive and significant. There is a red stain on the right front panel, near the bottom of the collar. There is a burnt-like hole on the back of the right sleeve, near the bottom. The lining, especially the hagaki (lining of the lower part of the kimono), is heavily stained. The fabric is very lovely. Please use it for remaking or for taking fabric. Only those who understand this are welcome to purchase. Please consider this as an old, antique item, with some scratches and stains.
