This is an old Wajima-nuri lacquerware bowl. It's a gorgeous piece with a vibrant vermilion interior and exquisite, changing chrysanthemum maki-e (sprinkled picture) on a pear-skin ground. The chrysanthemum maki-e, each with its own unique design, is of high quality, expressing elaborate artistry through advanced techniques. The lid has minor scratches, but the body has some damage as shown in images 7, 9, and 13. Please understand that this is an antique item.
