K. Yairi YF-00028 CUSTOM, made in 1994. While I don't have definitive proof, I believe the sides and back are solid Brazilian rosewood. This is just a guess, so please consider it as such. The reason is that the grain and color are clearly different from the Honduras rosewood I've seen. (Honduras rosewood tends to be less reddish and lighter in color.) Guitars made with Madagascar rosewood started appearing on the market around 2000, and since this instrument was made in 1994, and I recall that Yairi started using Madagascar rosewood much later, I've concluded, through a process of elimination, that it's likely Brazilian rosewood. Of course, whether you believe it or not is up to you. When I acquired it, there were a few issues, so I had a professional repair shop work on it. 1. Saddle creation (offset saddle made of cow bone) 2. Adhesive repair of side cracks 3. Adhesive repair of back bracing separation 4. Repair of wood cracks on the back (repaired with a wooden patch inside the body. Please refer to the photos for the repair condition) 5. Overall adjustment These treatments have resulted in an instrument that is in excellent playing condition. Regarding other conditions, there are scratches, dents, and dirt commensurate with its age, so it's a player's condition. (Please check the photos for details) The neck is straight, and the string height is approximately 2.25mm at the 12th fret on the 6th string side. Please consider the string height value as a reference, as the neck moves with the seasons. The nut width is 42mm.
