Noh mask "Uba" ① (Uba) This is a work by Noh mask craftsman Tangetsu. [Size] Height 22 cm, Width 15 cm This is a work by my late father, who trained in Kanze style. It has been stored in a closet for a long time after being made. The outer cardboard box is dirty, but the paulownia box and the Noh mask are clean. The mask will be sent wrapped in Kinran fabric. I am listing two "Uba" masks. This is item ①. Reference: Photo 16 I am also listing other Noh masks. ■ It represents an elderly woman, with a slightly more common expression than "Rōjo" (old woman). While having an elegant atmosphere, the wrinkles between the eyebrows reveal an expression of suffering. "Rōjo" masks have only the pupils hollowed out, while "Uba" masks have the entire eye socket carved out with the eyes looking down.
