The color is a slightly dark, deep red, and the soft texture of merino wool makes it relatively less itchy. I believe it's a beautiful item with no noticeable stains, snags, or moth-eaten areas, but there is one repair on the back waist rib (image 4), and there is some pilling, indicating some wear.
