While it may vary from person to person, when storing the koto, the bridges are removed, and the "interlining, buffer cloth" is used between the center of the dragon's spine and the strings. Previously, "hand towels" etc. were used, but I created "silk interlining, buffer cloth" to make it look more elegant. "Silk" has excellent moisture absorption and release properties, regulating humidity, making it an excellent material for protecting the koto.
