Larger than a trio cake plate, it's a perfect size for placing various sweets and small whole cakes in the center of the table for tea time, or for toast at breakfast, or sandwiches at lunch. The smooth, flat surface without grooves seems easy to wash. There are minor scratches, slight fading of the gold trim, unevenness in the glaze from the time of manufacture, and minor stains, but none of these are noticeable. There are no cracks, chips, or crazing, and I think it is in very good condition for a vintage item. Please understand that this is a vintage/antique item before purchasing.
